The CSNA mission is to foster communication between Colorado nursing schools and the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA); organize, represent and mentor Colorado students preparing for initial licensure as a registered nurse, as well as those enrolled in baccalaureate completion programs; convey the standards and ethics of the nursing profession; promote development of the skills that students will need as responsible and accountable members of the nursing profession; advocate for high quality health care; advocate for and contribute to advances in nursing education; and develop nursing students who are prepared to lead the profession in the future.

Colorado Health Institute (CHI) knows how important data are to helping you make informed decisions about health and health care in Colorado. And we know how hard it can be to easily and quickly find what you need.

For these reasons, CHI is proud to launch a
new data section on our Web site
www.coloradohealthinstitute.org. This section gives quick access to national and state databases containing health-related information on Colorado and its counties. We continually update our data sources as we learn and gather information about them.

On-Line Data Links – Access to online data sources that allow you to customize Colorado statewide and county-level data. To date, we have identified more than 30 Web sites with information on topics such as healthcare quality, teen pregnancy, injury-related mortality, Medicare, and children’s and women’s health. Submit your query and get tables, graphs or maps, or search the databases for statistics on these and other topics about health or related issues, such as population and other demographic information.

Database Inventory – Profiles of other national and state health databases whose data can be accessed by request. Our profiles (30+ and growing) describe each database’s purpose, the geographic level of the data collected (state, county, zip code, etc.) and date of the most recent data available. We also provide links to the latest published reports and contact information to request raw data or an analysis.

Geographic Inventory – Maps of the various regions public and private organizations use to collect data and target their work. More than 20 maps illustrate the diversity among agencies and even within individual agencies. For instance, the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing uses 12 regions for its Child Health Plan Plus program but 20 regions for Medicaid information. In contrast, the Colorado Health and Hospital Association uses only five regions. All maps show the identified regions and their purposes, and may be printed or downloaded for presentations and reports.  Finally, use our new advanced search feature to search our Web site by topic, or access our data and other information by county, gender, race or ethnic group and/or year.  CHI is committed to being a gateway to the data sources you need. Please let us know what we can do to make these resources even more useful.
